Reading a findings pack without drowning in IT tickets
How credit managers can sort remediation from an application audit into finance-owned versus IT-owned work.
A findings pack from an application audit of a receivables tracking application is only useful if someone can act on it during ordinary weeks — not only during a project surge.
Sort by owner, then by risk
For each finding ask: can finance change a policy or a report definition, or does IT need a configuration change? Mixed ownership is fine; unclear ownership is not.
Prefer ranked lists
If every item is “high,” nothing is. Ask your reviewer to keep urgent control gaps separate from housekeeping. A dispute export mismatch that hides aged invoices outranks a cosmetic label on a rarely used screen.
Schedule the follow-up before you forget
Book a remediation follow-up date when you accept the pack. Waiting until “all tickets close” often means the re-test never happens, and the next year starts with the same open points.
